President Akufo-Addo assures Ghanaians of his commitment to fulfill all his promises

- The president is on a nationwide tour

- He mentioned that his re-election in 2020 is dependent on him fulfilling all the promises he made in 2016

The president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has given his assurance to fulfill all the campaign promises he made during the December 2016 elections. The president was speaking to people and chiefs of Asankra Breman in the Western Region.

President Akufo-Addo said: "I have only spent less than two years in office but I have demonstrated that I did not give vague promises. You are a living witness to that"

“They told you that Free SHS was a lie. They said I could not restore teacher trainee and nursing trainee allowances. They said the revival of the National Health Insurance Scheme was also impossible.

The president's nationwide tour is expected to help him reassure Ghanaians of government's obligations to them

Nananom, right before your very eyes, and in the eyes of all Ghanaians, I am fulfilling these promises one after the other. Before the end of my tenure in office, I would have fulfilled all of the promises I made to you".

The president went on to add that by September 2019, his flagship Free SHS policy will cover all senior high schools in Ghana

The president touched on agriculture where he mentioned that Ghanaians will continue to see tremendous growth under his administration. He promised that through various interventions by the government and development partners, farming areas in Ghana will feel the change soon.

The president ended on the note that "by fulfilling all promises, Ghanaians will know that I am an honest person who did not deceive them in order to win their votes in 2016 general elections.”

The president is on a nationwide tour that has is expected to re-touch base with the people and assure them of government's support and fulfillment of duties.
