The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced it will hold congress in Cameroon on September 30, 2018 to elect a replacement for Kwesi Nyantakyi.
The decision to elect a new First Vice President for the association follows the resignation of the embattled Nyantakyi after Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ latest heart-wrenching revelations about Ghana’s soccer administration dubbed the 'Number 12'.
The investigative journalist’s documentary also indicated the rot in football on the African Continent too. The filmed showed over 100 referees in Ghana and on the continent taking bribes to influence the outcome of matches.
Kwesi Nyantakyi, was president of the Ghana Football Association, First Vice at CAF, a FIFA Council member, Fifa Associations Committee member and President of Wafu Zone B.
But due to his involvement in the Anas documentary, FIFA has banned Mr. Nyantakyi from all football related activities for 90-days as they undertake investigations into the matter.
