- Prophet Kumchacha is unhappy with the level of immorality in the country
- He has blamed failing marriages on the lack of praying among married couples
Prophet Nicholas Osei, otherwise known as Kumchacha, has criticised public morality in Ghana, mentioning that he does not believe the country can boast of 200 virgins. The preacher was speaking on a show on Thunder TV.
Prophet Kumchacha, who is the founder and head of the Heavens Gate Ministry International, decried the level of immorality among young people. He spoke of how young girls were now actively sleeping with men.
In castigating what he describes as a moral canker, Prophet Kumchacha said :
“I don't think it will be easy to point to 200 virgins in the country. They are all spoilt brats. When we were growing up, you could see a child of 14 bathing outside. But that is not the case anywhere now”.
The loud and fiery preacher has been both the subject and speaker of controversies in the last few years. Recently, he was involved in a public quarrel with entertainer Afia Schwarzenegger.
The dispute with Schwarzenegger started as a disagreement in the studios of Kasapa FM. The two, known for their confrontational personalities, managed to devolve the disagreement to a very personal level.
Since then, Kumchacha has moved on to other disputes. He has also threatened to beat up certain entertainers including current high-ranking artiste, Patapaa.
In the segment where Kumchacha lamented the lack of virgins in Ghana, he also attacked couples whose marriages fail. The prophet believes marriages fail because couples do not pray.
