- Kadyrov then took the Liverpool star to the stadium where they had photographs
Egypt international Mohamed Salah has now found himself at the center of controversy after the Liverpool striker was persuaded for photographs in Russia by Chechen leader Ramzan Kadrov.
Ramzan Akhmadovich Kadyrov is the Head of the Chechen Republic and a former member of the Chechen independence movement.
He is also the son of former Chechen President Akhmad Kadyrov who was assassinated in May 2004.
His rules in his country is said to have been blighted by numerous reports of torture, extra-judicial killings.
The 41-year-old unexpectedly arrived at the Egypt hotel on Monday evening in Russia and then demanded to see Mohamed Salah who was relaxing in his room.
Salah went down to see him and he was told if the Liverpool player would accompany him for a drive to the stadium in which he agreed.
Kadyrov took Mohamed Salah to the stadium where they had some photographs together and he has been accused of using the high-profile player purely for political propaganda.
Liverpool and Egypt international Mohamed Salah was earlier forced to react quickly to a fan who grabbed his left injured shoulder while trying to have a selfie.
The fan was happy seeing Mohamed Salah coming down of Egypt training bus and therefore rushed to take picture forgetting that the player is still recovering from a shoulder injury.
Mohamed Salah then removed the fans' hand off his shoulder and was then escorted safely through the crowd.
