Journalist beaten and brutalised after being caught in bed with football chief's wife

YEN.com.gh has sighted a trending video of a man who was severely brutalised and humiliated after being allegedly caught in bed with another man's wife.

In the video, the unlucky man is seen standing with mud all over his body as some unseen people, who likely took the video, could be heard interrogating and mocking him.

This was after the man identified as Clayton Masekesa had been subjected to some beatings and made to roll on the floor.

Masekesa, a journalist with Zimbabwe's Newsday newspaper, was allegedly found in the matrimonial bed of one Soul Tom doing his own thing with Tom's wife.

Soul Tom is actually the secretary general of Mutare City Football Club, one of the popular football teams in Zimbabwe.

According to reports accompanying the video, Masekesa had been writing very favourable stories to promote the football boss and also serves as the spokesperson of the club.

Soul Tom’s wife is believed to be Masekesa’s lover for a long time and while her husband is out of town, the journalist sneaks in and has his way freely, iHarare, a Zimbabwean blog reported.

The videos which have gone viral has generated a lot of debate with many social media users social media users are demanding that the Police investigate the circumstances surrounding the “derogatory punishment” after he was allegedly caught in a “compromising position” with another man’s wife.

Lawyer Miriam Majome (@Majomemiriam) said the “barbarism” in the videos is unacceptable. “Adultery is not a crime; so, there was nothing to report to the Police.

“There are civil remedies open to the husband such as adultery damages and divorce. This barbarism is unacceptable. Generally, the increasing lawlessness in this country is disappointing,” she tweeted.

Lawyer Majome's tweet was in a reply to similar sentiment shared by Nevanji Madanhire (@nevanjim) that "even then he didn't deserve the humiliation; he should have been reported to the police and properly prosecuted. This treatment of suspects is criminal."
