Popular gospel musician, Noble Nketia, has asked Ghanaians and all football lovers to forgive former Ghana Football Association (GFA) boss, Kwesi Nyantakyi, and help pray for him.

Nketia made this appeal in an interview on Hitz FM, where he made known his overwhelming love for football.

“…I love football and I always want Ghanaian football to be where it’s supposed to be...it's quite unfortunate that this happened. But we are humans and we fault one way or the other.

"I think we should forgive and pray for Kwesi Nyantakyi and the other culprits in the video…” Nketia said.

He also used the opportunity to ask that Ghanaians not only forgive Kwesi Nyantakyi but also forgive all the culprits who appeared in Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ ‘Number 12’ video.

Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ latest exposé that was premiered on Wednesday, June 6, in Accra captured the GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi, among many other officials of the football governing body in Ghana taking bribes and match officials who according to the title of the expose have become the ‘number twelve’ players who influence the outcome of games.

The video also revealed that they influence selection of players and divert funds meant for sponsorship, but the likes of JF Mensah and Kweku Eyiah passed the test by rejecting the monies given them as bribes.

Following that, Kwesi Nyantakyi has resigned as the president of the GFA but has also said his resignation should not be misconstrued for owning up to the action in the video.

But despite nationwide condemnation, the musician is very optimistic that the football fraternity will be stronger and better after the appropriate measures have been put in place to resolve this national crisis.

“…I pray that things go well. I also believe that the appropriate quarters are taking care of things and doing what is necessary to put things in the right order…” he added.
