Husband of Oye Lithur files for divorce in court

- Tony Lithur has filed a case of divorce against his wife, Oye Lithur

- Tony has raised various reasons for his divorce including infidelity

- Oye Lithur is yet to respond to this development is learning that former gender minister and popular human rights activist, Nana Oye Lithur, has been served with divorce notice from her husband.

The notice was contained in a court document which pleads for the astute lawyer to make herself available on this case.

The reason for this decision by her husband, Tony Lithur, is yet unknown but there are suspicions that the marriage of the "Lithurs" have been on the rocks for years now.

In fact, close sources to Tony Lithur claim he took this decision because she is violent and intemperate.

Should the divorce of the Lithurs fall through, it will be a big blow to their families and even the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Both Nana Oye Lithur and Tony Lithur are big players in the opposition NDC. Tony Lithur, for instance, acted as the lawyer to former president Mahama during the knife edge election petition of 2008.

Checks from close sources claim the outspoken Oye Lithur had decided to embark on weight management resolution following some concerns alleged to have been raised by her husband. There are also some wild allegations that Oye Lithur and her husband had issues regarding legal moral arguments as her support for gay rights in Ghana.
