Court orders for medical records of Obengfo Hospital boss

- Court has ordered for the medical records of Dr Obeng-Andoh of Obengfo hospital with immediate effect

- The Court is demanding the full health condition of the Obengfo boss who is standing trial for the murder of Stacy Offei Darko

An Accra District Court has ordered the Medical Director of Greater Accra Regional Hospital (Ridge Hospital), to produce a comprehensive medical report on Dr Dominic Obeng-Andoh, the Director of Advanced Body Sculpt Centre (Obengfo Hospital).

This is to enable the court to determine whether Dr Obeng-Andoh was faking sickness as alleged by the prosecution following the charge of murder leveled against him.

According to a report, the court said the medical director’s report should specifically disclose the progress made by Dr Obeng-Andoh from May 29, 2018, the day he was admitted at the hospital till date.

The report states that the medical director is also expected to produce the report at the next hearing of the case on June 19, 2018.

The court’s order came after the prosecution informed it that the accused had “woefully refused” to appear before the court, hiding under the pretext of accessing health care at the Ridge Hospital.

The prosecution, therefore, prayed the court to order the medical director of Ridge Hospital to appear before the court to provide it with medical report of Dr Obeng-Andoh who has been charged with murder.

Dr Obeng-Andoh, is facing another charge of practicing medicine without a licence and operating an unlicensed medical facility.

He has been granted bail on that particular case but remains in police custody on the charge of murder.

The director of Obengfo Hospital, has been charged for murdering Ms Stacy Offei Darko, a deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship Innovation Plan (NEIP), who died at the Obengfo Hospital recently.

Ms. Offei Darko, 37, reportedly died at the medical facility in May this year under mysterious circumstances, with her remains concealed at the facility by Dr. Obengfo for three days before it was sent to the mortuary without the knowledge of the family.

This led to the immediate arrest of Dr Obeng-Andoh, and subsequently charged by court for murdering the victim.

Meanwhile, doctors at the Korle-bu Teaching Hospital are yet to release autopsy report to the court to further ascertain the real cause of Stacy’s death.
