- Government sets up interim committee to manage football in Ghana
- The committee will oversee the administration of football and other related matters in the country, while more permanent measures are worked out to sanitize the local game
Government has constituted a five-member committee to oversee the running of football in the country.
The interim management committee (IMC) will be chaired by the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee of the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations, Dr Kofi Amoah.
Members will be Cudjoe Fianoo, who will also serve as Secretary to the committee, former footballers Abedi Pele and Reverend Osei Kofi and lawyer and former sports journalist Eva Okyere.
Peace FM’s sports anchor Daniel Kweku Yeboah will also serve as the spokesperson of the committee.
The statement signed by Minister of Information Dr Mustapha Abdul-Hamid opined that government would keep engaging with Fifa and Caf on the way forward for Ghana football after the revelations in the Anas tape.

All GFA officials have been relieved of their posts after an investigative documentary captured scores allegedly collecting bribes and breaching GFA/Fifa ethics.
The scandal has resulted in a Fifa ban of President Kwesi Nyantakyi for 90 days. He has since resigned.
