Family diabetic history forced me to lose weight – Sista Afia

Talented Ghanaian musician, Francesca Duncan-Williams, widely known as Sister Afia, has opened up on her recent weight loss.

According to the singer, the diabetic condition prevalent in her family gets triggered when one puts on excessive weight, therefore she is trying to avoid being in that position.

The artiste who is noted to be thick tall was recently noticed to have lost drastic weight which sparked some concerns among her social media fans.

However, Afia in an interview with Accra-based Joy News allay the fears of her fans, adding that her recent weight loss was due to health grounds.

“Honestly, we have a history of diabetic 'condition' in my family and I want to see my grandkids so, it was all in the favour of my health,” she told Joy News in an exclusive interview.

Sista Afia in her interview also hinted that she has done a couple of big collaborations with some top artistes which is set to hit the music scene soon.

The Afrobeat artiste gained recognition following the release of her single 'Jeje', which featured top Ghanaian dancehall artist, Shatta Wale and Afezi Perry.
