Popular Ghanaian rapper, Maradona Yeboah Adjei, better known as Guru, has suggested that it is about time for government to pay more attention to the Ghanaian entertainment industry rather than football.

According to Guru, Zylofon Media must be commended for mobilizing all resources in an effort to put Ghana’s entertainment on the world map.

“Entertainment has brought us a lot of fame even though we put more money in football, Zylofon media has all-round entertainment signed artistes and needs more support,” he said.

The ‘Lapaz Toyota’ hitmaker in his interaction stated that, Ghana has a lot of entertainment personalities, and is about time for government to put together a support package, in order to put them on the map.

“We should invest more in creative arts than football,” Guru categorically said.

Guru who was clearly not happy about government’s poor support to the Creative Arts Industry, urged the industry minister to tap into the experience of Zylofon Media and its managers in order to sustain the Ghanaian music industry.

The talented rapper further called on the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Arts to liaise with Regional Chiefs in order to secure lands for the construction of entertainment facilities across Ghana.

A number of Ghanaian musicians have shared diverse opinions about Ghana’s entertainment industry.

Some have over the years argued that the only way government can grow the sector is to invest in more entertainment facilities, and also give the sector equal attention just as it does to football.

In Ghana, the entertainment industry hardly gets recognition as well as attracting the needed investment.

This makes it difficult for investors to put their monies into the sector, since many find the industry to be less lucrative.
