An Accra High Court on Thursday was unable to hear the bail application of the Medical director of Advanced Body Sculpt Centre, Dr. Dominic Obeng-Andoh, who is standing trial for murder.
Despite being granted bail by a Circuit court last week on a separate charge, Dr. Obeng-Andoh still remains under police custody, as his lawyers are yet to secure bail in the murder case.
Lawyers of the medical practitioner, have secured bail on charges of operating an unlicensed medical facility and practicing without a license.
The medical doctor has pleaded not guilty to two charges, for allegedly murdering Ms Stacy Offei Darko, a deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship Innovation Plan (NEIP).
Ms. Stacy Offei Darko who died last month after being admitted at the Obengfo Hospital, was said to have complained of headache.
According to the mother of the late Stacy, the body of her daughter was concealed for days at the medical facility and later deposited at the morgue without the knowledge of any family member.
The development that angered the family and friends of the deceased leading to the arrest of Dr Obeng Andoh.
The doctor who has been finally charged for the murder of the late deputy CEO, is said to be on admission at the Ridge Hospital.
However, lawyers of the suspect on Thursday presented bail application to an Accra High Court on health grounds of their clients, but the court declined to hear the bail application.
The judge in an explanation noted that the Office of the Attorney-General had only been notified of the bail hearing and cannot grant their bail request.
The lawyers who were burnt in securing bail for their client maintain that Dr. Obeng-Andoh was unwell and must be granted bail.
But Justice Justin Kofi Dorgu, has since, adjourned next hearing to July 21 for the application to be argued.
Meanwhile, a video of Dr Obeng-Addo has been sighted being aided by three persons including his physician, as he made his way out of the courtroom.
The case has been adjourned to July 6, 2018.
