Multiple award-winning dancehall act and first Ghanaian artiste to win the prestigious Music of Black Origin (MOBO) award, Samini, has warmed hearts on social media with a picture of his dad as he wished him well on Father’s Day.
Samini, known in real life as Emmanuel Andrew Samini, took to his Instagram account and shared a dazzling picture of his father to mark Father’s Day.
The father of the dancehall act was seen dressed in traditional ‘agbada’ outfit and had on a cap to match the outfit.
The ‘Gyae Shi’ hit singer captioned his photo, “Mr Samini himself... #Daddy you do all”. The photo has since been liked and commented on by many of the fans of the musicians
Some ardent fans upon seeing the photo have also extended their warm wishes to the father of the singer.
The proud son of the Dagaati man becomes one of the first celebrities to wish his father well on Father’s Day.
Not too long ago, the singer revealed the reason for releasing his hit song, ‘Gyae Shi’.
According to the singer, the inspiration for the song came after he curiously blended Indian hemp with locally distilled gin known as Akpeteshie one hot afternoon and realized that Akpeteshie was better than ‘weed.’
The 2018 VGMA Reggae Song of the Year award winner disclosed that he composed the song when he was very young after his experience.
“It’s a long story; I was very young at that time and I remember that very afternoon I blended the two and that was my experience,” he confessed in an earlier interview.
Samini is noted as one of Ghana’s top dancehall acts and is ranked with the likes of Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale.
Being the CEO of High Grade Music, Samini is noted for producing top quality stars.
The veteran dancehall artiste has groomed a number of acts including Kofi Kinaata and the recently introduced Deon Boakye, who was given a shot to perform at the 2018 VGMA.
