This situation contradicts what the mayor of Accra, Mohammed Adjei Sowah, promised residents of Accra some months ago.
The confident mayor said Accra will not experience any floods during the rainy season. According to the mayor, all chocked gutters in the capital have been desilted stating that his conviction comes from recent downpours which resulted in no floods.
Floods in Accra continues to be a serious issue to the government. Ghanaians felt the utmost effect of flooding on June 3rd after days of heavy downpour which lasted for hours.
Unfortunately, the flooding coincided with the gas explosion at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra which saw the deaths of several victims.
