NDC accuses MP of cybercrime and money laundering

NDC accuses MP of cybercrime and money laundering

- NDC executives have accused the MP for Effutu, Alex Afenyo Markins, of getting involved in cybercrime and money laundering

- This was after he ordered an assault on the Constituency Communications Director of the party, Julius Naagmiwinnore.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Effutu in the Central Region, Alex Afenyo Markins, has been accused of engaging in cybercrime and money laundering.

According to abusuafmonline.com, the Effutu constituency executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) claim that the MP is either directly involved in the acts or is a conduit for the fraudsters who use the bank accounts of prominent people to facilitate their dubious acts.

Their call for investigations is as a result of an assault on the Constituency Communications Director of the party, Julius Naagmiwinnore.

YEN.com.gh understands that those who attacked Naagmiwinnore were allegedly hired by Afenyo Markins.

This follows a comment passed by Naagmiwinnore on radio to the effect that a young woman who mysteriously lost her life in the area came from a home whose members are known to deal in cybercrime. He added that there was the need for the police to fish out the real culprits to face the law.

This did not go down well with the MP, who allegedly instructed that the assault be carried out.

The MP caused Naagmiwinnore’s phone to be seized, an action he explained was necessary because the victim was likely to have evidence about him on his phone.

The NDC executives claimed that the actions of the MP implied that he had something to hide, hence the need for investigations to be carried out.
