Police officials in Nyanyano in the Central Region has arrested 12 people suspected to be involved in internet fraud.
According to a report by MyNewsGH.com, the suspects include a woman, whose identity is yet to be confirmed.
Items seized from the suspects included 10 laptops, 13 mobile phones, 1 Nigerian passport, 3 wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, 3 wallets and an amount of GH¢ 25,110.
According to Police Commander DSP Daniel Kwao Teye, the patrol team received information that at about 10 pm on June 11, 2018, some people were in hiding in a house and using computers to engage in internet fraud popularly known as ‘Sakawa.’
He went on to say that the police quickly rushed to the place and arrested all of them.
