Yen.com.gh has photos of the fisherfolk who discovered the body of the doctor who lost her life in the floods on Monday, June 18.

Dr. Hayfron, who died after being trapped in her car during the downpour, was discovered dead in the Kpeshie Lagoon which is closer to the sea in Teshie.

Earlier at the Teshie Rasta road, these fisherfolk were seen pulling the mangled car of the doctor from a trench to see whether she could possibly have been in the car.

Local fishermen who have been searching for her 3 days ago however discovered her lifeless body covered with weeds on the banks of the Kpeshie Lagoon.

This troubling story follows the death of a middle-aged man spotted near the Trassaco Estate Junction at Adjiringanor in Accra after the heavy downpour on June 18.

Also, a mother with three kids died at Ashaiman in a flooded gutter with her 2-year-old baby boy strapped at her back.

The hour-long rain has blocked roads, inundated homes and even left large stretches of walkways flooded at knee-level.

So far, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has deployed personnel across the country to ensure full safety of victims as the fire service is also in high alert against any disaster.

Floods in Accra continues to be a serious issue to the government. Ghanaians felt the utmost effect of flooding on June 3rd after days of heavy downpour which lasted for hours.

Unfortunately, the flooding coincided with the gas explosion at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra which saw the deaths of several victims.
