Countryman Songo cautions government over the restructuring of GFA after 'Number 12'

- Countryman Songo has indicated that he was going to impress on the government to take the right steps to sanitize the GFA

- He was seen in a video given a breakdown of all that has gone amiss following the era of Kwesi Nyantakyi

- The sports journalist was recently reinstated to his post after being cut off some months back

Outspoken sports journalist and TV personality, Patrick Osei Agyeman, popularly known as Countryman Songo, has indicated that journlaists in the sports fraternity were going to put pressure on government to restructure the country’s Football Association.

Speaking in a radio interview on Accra-based Peace FM, the firebrand TV icon who hosts popular sports show ‘Fire for Fire’ told Kwami Sefa-Kayi that he was going to ‘fire’ the government to do the right thing.

He added that even though he was in support of government’s actions so far, he was still going to ensure that no mistake was made in the restructuring of the Ghana Football Association.

Countryman Songo went on to lament the rate at which the local league was halted for months on end and also talked about the rate at which the Black Stars had fallen from grace to grass.

The firebrand sports journalist went on to urge all Ghanaians who had keen interest in football to be rest assured that everything was going to be fine.

He however sent caution to government to stay away from corrupt people who would take over the GFA to continue the rot that was exposed by award-winning journalist, Anas in his ‘Number 12’.

In reacting to a possible ban from FIFA, Countryman Songo revealed that he was not afraid of a ban because many countries including Nigeria and Cameroon had come out of FIFa bans and were now better as a result.

Countryman Songo was reportedly fired from his post after suits were brought against his employers for comments he made against then president of the Ghana Football Association, Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi.

The sports journalist was recently reinstated after the screening of Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ ‘Number 12’.
