Ghanaian comedian and musician, Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng, widely known as Funny Face, has lashed out at young hiplife artiste, Kuami Eugene, over what many have described as his unsavory comments directed at Patapaa.
Kuami Eugene has received heavy bashing from some social media users on various platforms for describing Patapaa’s style of music as ‘noise’.
The young musician who was speaking recently on Accra-based GH One TV disclosed that he has declined to do music collaboration with the ‘One Corner’ hitmaker because Patapaa is only a ‘noise maker’ and not a musician.
“Patapaa said he needs me on a song, he’s calling me for a feature and I said no because I’m not ready," he said on Rhythmzlive.
When asked by the host, if a collaboration with the Swedru-based artiste could possibly happen in the future he answered in the negative.
“People shouldn’t wait. It’s never going to happen, Patapaa’s kind of songs are not me, he makes too much noise,” Kuami Eugene insisted.
However, Funny Face, who is appalled by Kuami Eugene’s interview has in a latest video said he [Eugene], is not any bigger and better than Patapaa.
“Everybody loves Patapaa because he’s very humble. He remembers where he’s coming from,” he said.
Funny Face who was spotted in a 43-second video on his Instagram page stated that prior to hearing about Eugene’s comment, he thought the young promising artiste was a humble person.
“Herh this guy paa...! The thing pain me…herh! you are insulting Patapaa, you think you’re bigger than Patapaa…Really! Your ‘apantang’ is like the combat of ‘obosom’ [god]" the ‘Cow and Chicken’ producer lambasted.
Funny Face, who was visibly unhappy, cautioned Kuami Eugene to ‘slow down’ and remain humble since he met more experienced people in the Ghana music industry.in
“Homie relax…Jame Bond slow down…you just came and you met people in this game but because of their ‘yes sir master’, they are still in the game so just relax and slow down," Funny Face angrily said.
Meanwhile, Kuami Eugene, hours after his interview, has rendered an unqualified apology to Patapaa for calling his style of music ‘noise’.
