- Hon. Kennedy Agyapong has alleged that Anas almost exposed Akufo-Addo with his 'Number 12'
- According to the legislator, the investigation was almost diverted to focus on the Nana Addo administration due to Nyantakyi's 'loose talk'
- The MP has vowed to strip Anas naked by exposing his shady deals
Outspoken Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Mr. Kennedy Agyapong, has indicated that but for God's intervention, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, would have exposed and disgraced President Akufo-Addo with his ‘Number 12’ documentary.
In a report cited on Graphiconline.com, it was gathered that while speaking on Accra-based Oman FM, the legislator said President Akufo-Addo was lucky the investigations were truncated because he (Nana Addo) could have been exposed and the opposition NDC would have used the situation to their advantage.
Speaking on the FM’s political talk show – Boiling Point - on Thursday night, the MP admonished NPP members to thank God for intervening on President Akufo-Addo’s behalf.
Mr Agyapong called on NPP members to rally behind and support his fight against Anas.
He also alleged that when a member of the NDC recently offered to defend former GFA President, Kwesi Nyantakyi, the party summoned him to the party headquarters and advised him to stay away since Nyantakyi was an NPP man.
“Per the information and evidence I have gathered, if President Akufo-Addo after watching the video, became scared and tried to influence Anas with money, the journalist would have disgraced him”, the NPP maverick lawmaker said.
“He [Anas] was going to show the thing to Nana, to put fear in him so that Nana Addo will pay, but the man [Nana Addo] didn’t” falter,’ he alleged.
Mr Agyapong alleged that Anas truncated the investigations because the BBC was mounting pressure and that instead of focusing on football corruption, because of Nyantakyi’s 'loose talk', the whole investigation was gradually turning to focus on President Akufo-Addo and his government.
Nyantakyi is noted to have revealed many ‘secrets’ about the president in the ‘Number 12’ documentary which have been found to be untrue.
The former president of the GFA is reported to have made comments about the president's family wealth and how he (Nana Addo) need money. He also opened up on top government secrets which were known by only those in the halls of power.
Reiterating his allegations of fraud against the journalist, Mr Agyapong said Anas investigated 55 customs officers but only showed the video of 11, insisting that those who were able to ‘pay’ him, were not shown in the video.
He also insisted that $150,000 was demanded from Kwesi Nyantakyi with the assumption that Anas was ready to drop the documentary if the money was paid.
Mr Agyapong said already, from the Number 12 documentary, even though it was evidently clear that President Akufo-Addo did not condone with Kwesi Nyantakyi, the NDC was spinning it in an attempt to denigrate the President.
Mr. Kenedy Agyapong has started on a warpath with Anas and has vowed to release a video titled, ‘Wo watches the watchman on June 27.
