- Constituents of Sagnarigu have charged their MP, A.B.A Fuseini to give them jobs
- According to the angry youth in the area, they want jobs not proverbs from their MP
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Sagnarigu, Alhaji A.B.A Fuseini, was on Saturday hounded by some of his constituents who accused him of failing to develop the area.
The former deputy Northern Regional Minister was present at the Tamale Technical University where the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) was holding its constituency executive elections.
The elections were, however, characterized by chaos, which eventually led to its postponement.
This was after some contenders complained of alleged over-voting, whiles accusing some party executives of trying to rig the elections.
But in another twist, Mr. Fuseini became the object of scrutiny, with some of the delegates descending heavily on him for the lack of development in the area.
MyNewsGh.com reports that the lawmaker was virtually chased away and hooted at by angry delegates who were heard in Dagbani telling him they want jobs and not proverbs.
Mr. Fuseini is noted for his deep understanding of Ghanaian proverbs, and constantly uses adages when answering questions or speaking publicly.
However, his constituents would have none of that. Rather they chose to hurl insults at him and accusing him of not doing much for the constituency despite being voted as MP.
Some of the delegates, according to the report, were heard chanting “We want jobs and development, not proverbs; stop the needless proverbs and develop the constituency” and “you will be voted out.”
This subsequently forced Mr. Fuseini to leave the venue under heavy security escort to avoid further taunts from the angry delegates.
