YEN.com.gh earlier reported that fast rising Ghanaian music star, Kwesi Arthur has lost the 2018 Black Entertainment Awards (BET Awards) in the Viewers’ Choice: Best New International Act category.
The Grind Day hitmaker has issued his first statement over his lose.
In a Twitter post after Sunday's lose to South African musician Sjava, Kwesi Arthur said, “How can I lose when I came from nothing.”
Looking at Kwesi's tweet, there is no doubt he is graceful in defeat and also inspires hope for the further.
Nominated in the Viewer’s Choice; Best New International Act category alongside Niniola from Nigeria, South African Sjava, Not3s from the UK among others, Kwesi Arthur was Ghana's only representative at the awards this year.
Kwesi Arthur’s nomination took over social media as campaigns were started to ensure he gets the award.
He has become a household name in the Ghanaian music industry for his hit songs, Anthem, Grind Day Remix, among others.
His Grind Day Remix song earned him the Hiphop Song of the Year at the 2018 award at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
