Farmer and leader of the Ghana Freedom Party, Akua Donkor, has filed a petition at the Supreme Court for the president and his vice to step down after their names popped up in the Number 12 investigative piece by Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
YEN.com.gh has details of the petition which claims the said video detailed to the "supposed investor how he could be given several government contracts if he pays bribes to some key government officials such as Nana Addo and his vice, Dr. Mahamamudu Bawumia".
In the 12th point of Akua Donkor's petition, the former presidential candidate says the president and vice president vacating their seat for investigations into the Nyantakyi scandal is needed to restore sanity to the presidency.
"Plaintiff (Akua Donkor) avers that the court should compel the defendant to advise the president of the Republic of Ghana and his vice to step down from the highest seat to allow fail investigations to be conducted in the Nyantakyi and other corruption video was shown recently,"excerpts of the petition stated.
So far, the attorney general, Gloria Akufo, has commenced a court action against Akua Donkor. In a writ of summons, Akua Donkor was given up to eith days to report or a showdown in court.
