Heavily drunk Police Officer boards ‘trotro’ holding AK47

- A heavily drunk Ghana Police Officer has been spotted in a video holding a gun in a 'trotro'

- The officer, who is yet to be identified, is said to be operating with the Madina Divisional Command

A video of a heavily drunk Ghana Police officer wielding an AK47 assault rifle in a commercial vehicle popularly known as ‘trotro’, has stunned many Ghanaians on social media.

The officer, whose name is not immediately known was said to have boarded the commercial vehicle from Ridge roundabout to Madina.

According to Starrfmonline.com report, the police officer is allegedly stationed with the Madina Divisional Police Command.

The officer, who was spotted in a video heavily drunk, could not sit still and was continuously bragging about his drinking habits.

The conduct of the officer in the video which has attracted general uproar and condemnation, has also raised huge security concerns.

Many security experts have argued that the conduct of the drunk officer put passengers on board the vehicle at risk, as he was clearly seen struggling to control himself while holding the gun.

The officer who was also seen battling with his AK47 gun was heard in a loud voice saying, “me ne obiaa nni asem” which translates to "I have no problem with anyone."

This was after the conductor vehicle (mate) asked him to pay his fare.

The incident according to information gathered by Starrfmonline.com happened on Tuesday, June 26.

Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Police Service, Sheila Buckman, speaking to Starrfmonline.com, said the incident has been brought to their attention and the police command has commenced investigations.

The Police PRO said the officer will be traced and sanctioned severely for putting the lives of civilians in danger and misconducting himself while on duty.
