- Wendy Shay was unveiled by Bullet as the replacement of the late Ebony Reigns
- Ghanaians have often criticized Wendy Shay, saying she can never be like Ebony
- But Wendy has said that it is normal for Ghanaians to compare her with Ebony
The latest musician to be signed by RuffTown Records, Wendy Shay, has finally spoken on the many allegations and accusations that she is trying to copy the style of the late Ebony Reigns.
When she was first introduced by Bullet on social media, some people attacked her, saying that she can never compare herself with the late diva.
But in a recent interview, Wendy Shay has said she desperately hopes that Ghanaians won’t compare her with Ebony.
This is contained in a report sighted by YEN.com.gh on Myjoyonline.com.
Wendy Shay, born Wendy Addo, reportedly made this revelation in an interview on Hitz FM.
According to the ‘Uber driver’ singer, she is not surprised that people would compare her with Ebony, however, she hopes that her work would differentiate her from the late singer.
“Since we are both from the same label, obviously there’s gonna be a comparison. It’s normal. It’s just time. I need the time to clear it off their eyes. I am not pressuring that at all. If they see my hard work and agenda they will appreciate me for who I am...” Wendy said.
She further disclosed how happy she is to be signed on by Bullet.
“I feel like family with them. They discuss everything with me. It was divine... meeting Bullet. I knew I was destined to be with him...,” Wendy stated.
Meanwhile, Ebony Reigns met her untimely death in a gory accident on the Sunyani-Highway on February 8, 2018.
She was with RuffTown Records and released hit songs including: ‘Sponsor’, ‘Date Ur Fada’, ‘Hustle’, ‘Maame Hw3’, and others.
