- Manchester United want to sign unsettled Polish striker Lewandowski from Bayern Munich
- The Red Devils have already contacted the formidable striker's agents and are currently negotiating terms
- Chelsea are also in the race for the Bayern marksman's signature
- Lewandowski has however made it clear that his first choice would be Real Madrid
Manchester United are in talks with Polish forward Robert Lewandowski's agent after the Bayern Munich striker revealed that he wanted out of the Bundesliga club.
Lewandowski has had quite a silent FIFA 2018 World Cup campaign and is yet to register a single goal for Poland, who have already exited the stage in Russia after under-performing in the group stages.
According to SunSport, Lewandowski secretly met with super-agent Pini Zahavi in Munich back in May to finalise plans of his exit from Bayern.
Following the meet, Zahavi openly admitted the Bayern number nine wanted a new challenge and a change in his professional career.
"Robert feels he needs a change and new challenge in his career," Zahavi said.
The Red Devils now join Chelsea on the hunt for the lethal marksman with Stamford Bridge ready to replace new signing Alvaro Morata after a miserable performance from their main striker in his debut season.
However, Real Madrid throw another spanner in the works for United and Chelsea after Lewandowski admitted that Bernabeu was his first choice destination.
Following the resignation of Los Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane, an overhaul of players in Madrid is highly inevitable with the European champions looking eager to revamp their front line.
Lewandowski would be an ideal replacement for the ageing Karim Benzema who managed to bag only five goals in the 2017/18 La Liga season.
It still remains to be seen where Lewandowski will land and there is no doubt the striker is on hot demand after bagging 29 goals in 24 games last season for Munich.
