- Charlotte Osei took over from Dr Afari Gyan as Electoral Commission boss

Sacked Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Charlotte Osei, has indicated that she is not bothered by her recent troubles, and has thanked God for not giving her away as “prey.“

The embattled EC boss was relieved of her duties on Thursday night following a directive from President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Mrs. Osei was fired together with her two deputies, Amadu Sulley and Gloria Opoku Amankwah.

The two EC deputies had been at loggerheads with their boss, with both parties leveling allegations of corruption and financial malfeasance against each other.

A statement signed by Information Minister, Mustapha Hamid, said the President decided to sack all three of the aforementioned, based on the recommendations of a committee set up by the Chief Justice to investigate the matter.

While some have sympathized with the former EC boss following her sack, others main that it was the right call considering the controversies that engulfed her tenure.

However, day after she was sacked, Mrs. Osei has finally broken her silence on the subject.

In an Instagram post, the 49-year-old lawyer suggested she is not bothered by the sack and rather referred her critics to Psalm 124 in the Holy Bible.

She added that she is “blessed” and that God’s mercies upon her are “beyond measure.“
