- Kennedy Agyapong has revealed that Anas championed the killings of some Chinese nationals
- According to the MP, he was making moves to report the journalist to the Chinese Embassy
- A legal battle between the two public figures is yet to start after Anas sued the legislator
Outspoken Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has alleged that investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas was involved in some more shady deals including championing some killings.
In a report sighted by YEN.com.gh on Adomfmonline.com, the legislator, who was speaking on the ‘Badwam’ morning show, implicated Anas in the much-talked-about galamsey issue which had plagued the country.
The MP alleged that Anas signed a contract with some European companies to discredit the Chinese making them unpopular in the country due to their ties to illegal mining, locally christened as 'galamsey'.
The Assin Central MP therefore vowed to report the investigative journalist to the Chinese Embassy due to his involvement in some atrocities done some of their people.
“I am going to report Anas to the Chinese Embassy, how he championed the killing of some Chinese in the country after taking huge sums of monies from them. Anas signed a contract with European companies to discredit Chinese and make them unpopular in the country”, he said on the Morning Show on Tuesday.
The Member of Parliament went on to allege that experienced journalist, Kweku Baako Jnr and his protégé, Anas, were hesitant in releasing the investigation they carried out on galamsey in Ghana due to the implications it could have on their reputations.
It is reported that Mr. Kweku Baako Jnr indicated the investigative work carried out by Anas on illegal mining imlicated many government and state security officials.
However, Mr. Agyapong claimed to have solid evidence of the dealings of Anas in the galamsey issue which could be disastrous.
“I have evidence to support the claims that Anas is corrupt and has some fishy dealings on this galamsey issue. I want to throw a challenge to Kweku Baako to bring out that expose if they are not afraid”, he added.
He further threatened to go the Chinese Embassy to report the dirty dealings of Anas to them and how he took huge sums of money from them.
Mr. Kennedy Agyapong has been on a ‘warpath’ with award-winning journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas after the latter released his investigative piece, ‘Number 12’.
The Member of Parliament has also released a video with the hopes of exposing the journalist as being corrupt dubbed ‘Who watches the Watchman’.
A legal battle between the two entities is in the offing since the journalist has marched to court to sue the MP.
