Popular showbiz personality and a management member of Chaterhouse has fired at Tamale Mayor, Iddrisu Musah Superior, describing him as 'clueless'.
According to George Quaye, the utterances and attacks directed at young hiplife artiste, Fancy Gadam by the mayor is utter ‘nonsense’.
The mayor, who is angry after some fans of the artiste were killed in Tamale accident on Thursday is blaming Fancy Gadam for the tragedy.
Musah Superior who has banned all musical concert at the Tamale Sports Stadium after the deadly crush has branded Fancy Gadam as ‘irresponsible, lawless’ musician in the North.
The MCE has also accused the young musician of ‘sacrificing’ the lives of Tamale youth to boost his music career.
The mayor who was clearly peeved in an interview with Tamale-based radio station insisted that Fancy Gadam’s talent is nothing but a waste, and he was no longer going to allow him shed the blood of his fans in Tamale.
“Fancy Gadam is an irresponsible talent. We are not going to allow one single individual to take Tamale to ransom. His talent is a danger to the people of Tamale. Do you want to use the blood of the people to make money? We will not allow it!” the angry mayor reportedly said.
However, George Quaye who has been appalled by the conduct of the mayor has called the utterances of the mayor ‘nonsense'.
Mr Quaye believes the Tamale mayor is clueless, citing his failure to enforce the wearing of helmets as just one example.
Speaking on Accra-based Hitz FM, the showbiz personality demanded from the mayor why he is not interested to ask the whereabouts of the truck driver who veered off his lane and run into Fancy Gadam’s convoy.
George Quaye who was clearly not happy about the comments of the MCE ‘schooled’ him about what good he thinks Fancy Gadam represents for the people of the Northern Region.
“If I were Fancy Gadam, I’ll take him on. How dare you open your mouth and say he’s using the blood of Tamale youth to make money? What nonsense! And this is a political leader? It’s appalling,” he fired.
George Quaye also questioned what the mayor has done as a political leader after his appointment in inspiring and improving the lives of Tamale youth.
“All these years, what has he done about it? Even simple action about getting people to wear helmet. He should show us what he did rather than trying to hang this boy just because the president is in your space and you’re afraid you might lose your job,” Mr Quaye said.
He also added that Musah Superior’s comments about Fancy Gadam after the deadly accident was unfortunate and must apologize.
“You put all blame on Fancy Gadam who has done nothing than in the last few years, put Tamale in a very good light. I think he took the wrong tangent on that day and must apologized.” George Quaye pointed out.
