The Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has vowed to ensure that investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, ends up in jail.
According to a report by MyNewsGH.com, the legislator stated that Anas, together with a Former State Attorney, Ellen Kwakukume, teamed up to send innocent people to jail.
He went ahead to say that “I will even make sure Kwakukume is arrested together with Anas. She wants me to apologize; she should just shut up because she is guilty. She and her letter are all bogus, and I will make sure she finds herself in hot waters”.
His comments were in reaction to a statement issued by Kwakukume to the effect that legislator should immediately apologize for tarnishing her image.
She has however demanded a public retraction and an apology from the MP and the Salis Newspaper within seven days for the allegations made against her.
A statement from her said Kennedy Agyapong and Salis Newspaper took bits and pieces of an earlier video recording to create an erroneous impression in furtherance of a campaign against investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
The video suggested that demanded and received a bribe from Anas Aremeyaw Anas to stop pursuing a case against people whose interest Anas was serving; something she describes as false.
