The Northern Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Chief Sorfo Azorka, has responded to claims made by the Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin North, Kennedy Agyapong.
According to a report by MyNewsGH.com, he stated that it is untrue that the MP prevented some of his boys from diverting votes from about 1000 polling stations in the Northern Region.
He explained that at no point were his followers involved in such an activity in an any part of the north.
YEN.com.gh earlier reported that Kennedy Agyapong claimed he succeeded in preventing some people from engaging in illegal electoral acts.
He further stated that the NDC worked closely with a former deputy commissioner of the Electoral Commision, Amadu Sulley, to manipulate the results.
In that respect, he reached out to Azorka and promised him a Land Cruiser, as well as other gifts if he ‘tamed’ his boys.
Responding to these claims, Azorka stated that his group is a disciplined one and it is committed to the NDC.
He went ahead to say that at no point did Kennedy Agyapong meet with his boys to discuss such issues.
He therefore challenged Agyapong to come clean on the matter, so that Ghanaians fully appreciate the facts and draw the right conclusions.
