Theophilus Tagoe, popularly known as Castro had some of the best hits in Ghanaian highlife music for over a decade. Originally going by the name Castro Under Fire, he and his close friend Asamoah Gyan made a total of three albums together. Castro songs first started getting attention in 2003 after he released Sradinam and soon after, success in the music industry quickly followed. In the decade before his unfortunate disappearance from the music industry, Castro gifted the world with some of the best music that is out there and still continues to be played almost half a decade later.

Odo Pa was released 5 years ago and is different from Sohier in that it is a more relaxed song with a beat that is sure to sooth you into a good mellow mood any time of the day. It is a fan favorite and despite many people outside not understanding most or all of the lyrics, the song is still gaining more views this far down the line. It is the perfect pick for a quiet gathering or a polite evening indoors. In the video Castro is in a suit as he serenades the listeners as a slow baritone hum carries the listener through the song. Like fine wine, Castro Odo Pa is song that continues to age very well. The song has well over 3 million views and this figure will only keep increasing.

4. Castro ft Asamoah Gyan - African Girls
African Girls is another of Castro songs that he has collaborated with the former Ghanaian football team captain, Asamoah Gyan. The duo had their chemistry right all the way down to the interlacing of the vocals in the song right before Asamoah Gyan starts his verse. The lyrical prowess the two had together is still worth a mention 8 years down the lie. The music video for this song is as old school as you might expect from a video from almost a decade ago. Do the dance is another one of Castro songs that will have fighting the urge to get up on your feet and do the dance. Before you ask what dance, it doesn’t have a name, it is a really catchy dance though and you can get the hang of it after a few minutes of practice. The song has well over 360,000 views on YouTube.
Castro Destroyer as he was known in some of his songs had given the music industry in Ghana just a taste of what he was capable of achieving as a musician. He unfortunately went missing in a skiing accident in 2014 in the company of the Gyan brothers at the Ada Estuary. His jet ski was recovered but his body was never found. His unfortunate disappearance came at a time when his musical talent and the name Castro(musician) was starting gaining popularity as he dropped one club banger after the other.
