Respected Ghanaian highlife musician, George Kwabena Adu, popularly known as Kwabena Kwabena, has disclosed that it is a difficult thing for both male and female celebrities to find true love.
According to the singer, his marriage with two different women failed because the ladies came to his life due to fame.
Speaking on Accra-based Starr FM with Bola Ray, the musician revealed that he is now scared to marry, after his first and second marriages crashed out.
“The reason why I’m scared is because it is so difficult for a celebrity to get genuine love. It is so difficult,” Kwabena told the host.
To him, his two marriages were unsuccessful because his ex-wives expected him to be without faults.
“It is unfortunate when people come to you out of the fact that you are Kwabena Kwabena,” he stated.
When asked by the host if both ladies did not marry him out of love, Kwabena Kwabena responded; “I can confidently say that both marriages were like that…due to circumstances by which I met them. Both ladies are not women I went out there looking for.”
The award-winning singer in his interaction debunked assertions that the marriage of his manager, Frema Adunyame collapsed because he was having an affair with her.
“Who on earth will leave marriage because of another human being? People just want to destroy and defame people especially when marriages break and somebody is talking,” he said.
Kwabena Kwabena who was clearly not happy maintained that it is not proper to peddle falsehood about others in difficult times such as divorce.
“It is ridiculous for any human being to say that you left marriage because of a woman or you left marriage because of a man. To me, that’s most unethical,” he said.
The highlife singer further noted that reports that he has been dating Frema since the collapse of their respective marriages is untrue.
“I only wrote her nickname on my arm to appreciate something that she has done for me,” Kwabena kwabena said.
