Ghanaian investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, has reported Hot FM, a radio station, and its reporter, Justice Kweku Annan, to the National Media Commission (NMC).

YEN.com.gh understands that this is as a result of consistent verbal attacks on his person by the radio presenter.

Anas again stated that Annan verbally attacked his Tiger Eye PI team, as well as his mentor, Kweku Baako.

In the petition, Anas claimed that the attacks by Annan, aimed at discrediting Tiger Eye PIs investigative works, began prior to and after the public broadcast of the team’s expose on the Ghana Football Association (GFA), titled ‘Number 12’.

He went on to say that that the accusations, which are without proof, necessitated an undercover investigation into the sudden desire of the journalist to discredit him.

As a result, Annan reportedly received an amount of GHC35,000 to support a movement to discredit Tiger Eye PI.

He expressed shock at the disappointing discoveries that were made during the investigations, adding that: “contrary to journalism actuated by the highest ideal and principles of decency, Annan was engaged in a media practice sold to the highest bidder”.

The investigations also revealed that Annan had teamed up with the Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, to destroy Anas’ credibility.
