Meet the young entrepreneurs who are investing their profits to solve societal problems

Entrepreneurship is a phenomenon that is beginning to be welcomed among the youth in Ghana.

Unlike in previous years, many have now understood the need to set up their own businesses, rather than always relying on others for jobs.

The former is the exact case of a group of young entrepreneurs who are bent on using their talent and crafts to make money and to better the society.

Their collective exuberance, zeal and will to create something special is what has led to the establishment of a mini company, known as Colour Media.

At Colour Media, they specialize in the printing of t-shirts, making of billboards, bead making (both foreign and local types), making of bags and sandals, and branding of other stuff.

As intriguing as their endeavour is, this is a group of youngsters who are not only interested in making profits, but also bent on changing society by tackling its problems.

In fact, all profits made from Colour Media are reinvested into the society to help solve one problem or the other.

The team of high school students have already embarked on education, road safety and drug abuse (tramadol) campaigns in a bid to contribute their quota to the well being of society.

Also, they’ve been making donations to some deprived schools, with the group recently donating books and other stationery to the Bosotwi MA primary school in the Eastern region.

Currently, the brains behind Colour Media have been nominated for a national high school entrepreneurship competition as recognition for their tremendous outputs.

The idea of the competition, which is scheduled for July 7, 2018, is to pitch students who have nice business ideas that can also solve societal problems.

The abilities of these young entrepreneurs are boundless, and it can only be hoped that they go as far as possible with their quest to take on societal challenges through business.
