The Koforidua Technical University was shrouded in rubbish and filth following the Annual Delegates Congress of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The NPP went to the polls on Saturday, July 7, 2018, to elect its new national executives ahead of the 2020 general elections.
However, despite the event coming to a successful end, there was a low point when the host venue was left a complete mess.
With very little dustbins to contain the rubbish produced, the compound was taken over by a heap of plastic waste, bottles and other waste materials.
Surprisingly, no effort was made to clean the place after the delegates congress – even after everybody had left the place for their various homes.
Some photos that emerged on social media after the event showed just a few men walking around the heaped rubbish.
It is unknown if any company was contracted to oversee the keeping of the place neat after the event.
Over 6,000 delegates gathered at the Koforidua Technical University on Saturday as the NPP elected their new national executives.
Among the big winners were Freddie Blay who was voted National Chairman; Rita Talata, Frederick Fredua Antoh and Michael Omari Wadie emerged National vice chairpersons, and Sammy Awuku was voted National Organiser, among others.
