La Liga side Barcelona have confirmed that Brazil’s Bezerra Paulinho will be heading back to former club China’s Guangzhou Evergrande on loan, after which the Chinese Super League side will decide if they want to keep the Brazilian midfielder.
A statement on Barcelona’s official website applauded the Brazil international for his contributions during his stay with the La Liga outfit.
“FC Barcelona and Guangzhou Evergrande have reached an agreement for the loan transfer of Paulinho Bezerra for one season, with a subsequent purchase option for the Chinese club.
“Barça publicly expresses its gratitude to Paulinho for his commitment and dedication and wishes him luck and success in the future,” the statement read in part.
Interestingly, the Brazilian during his short-stay at the Nou Camp featured in 49 games and netted nine goals, all in La Liga matches.
Paulinho played his first game for Barcelona on August 26, 2017 in their 2-0 win at Alavés.
However, the Brazilian netted his first goal for the La Liga champions in his fourth match, after his 84th minute ensured Barcelona came from behind to beat Getafe 2-1.
Interestingly, Paulinho emerged one of the best attacking midfielder who easily made his way into the opponent’s vital area.
