- The NDC believes the government is plotting to sabotage the 2020 elections
- The opposition suspects the removal of top officials at the death and births registry in the Volta Region is suspicious
The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is suspecting government could be conspiring to rig the 2020 elections.
Following the reported dismissal of some officials at the births and deaths registry in the Volta Region, the NDC suspects this is a plot to sabotage the upcoming Ghana Card registration for the good of the party in 2020.
The party believes tampering with the Births and Deaths department of the Volta Region could be used as an advantage in reducing the dominance of the NDC in their political strong-hold of the Volta Region.
At a press conference, top executives of the party say other developments including the removal of all three electoral commissioners are clear indications that something fishy is happening within the NPP administration.
"The NPP must be forewarned that no responsible Ghanaian who cares about our nascent democracy including those of us in the Minority will sit idle and allow them to continue on this reckless path to bastardize the democracy we have all toiled to build and for which they have become the biggest beneficiaries," the party revealed.
