Sawla Security Committee demands transfer of ‘bonking’ policeman

- Sawla-Tuna Security Committee is demanding immediate transfer of police officer caught in a scandal

- The Security Committee believes that the only way to restore peace in the community is to transfer the officer

The Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District Security Committee (DISEC), has requested for the transfer of a policeman who was allegedly caught at his private residence having an affair with another man’s wife.

According to the DISEC, the immediate transfer of the accused police officer would enhance peace and stability between the youth of the community and the police service in the area.

The District Security Committee, have also argued that transferring the officer will ensure the safety of the policeman, who has been identified as Lance Corporal Julius Ocloo, stationed at Sawla-Tuna Kalba district.

The decision was taken after an emergency meeting by the Security Committee barely 24 hours after Lance Corporal Julius Ocloo was figured in the scandal

Some irate youth of the Sawla-Tuna welding cutlasses and sticks stormed the police station on Wednesday to demand the release of the man whose wife the policeman is said to have slept with.

The man, Adamu Sakara, the NPP Constituency Youth Organizer for the area, was arrested and detained for allegedly attacking Lance Corporal Ocloo for sleeping with his wife.

However, a swift intervention by SWAT team of the police at Sawla prevented the aggrieved youth, who were armed, from vandalizing the police station over the arrest of Adamu Sakara.

Mr Sakara who was said to have caught Lance Corporal Ocloo sleeping with his wife, who is also a community police officer allegedly attacked him at his residence.

According to report, there is growing tension at Sawla as the aggrieved youth are threatening to carry out a reprisal attacks on the police and take on the accused officer.

Meanwhile, the District Police Commander, ASP O.K Boateng, has confirmed the attack to Daily Graphic, but declined to give details.
