France win 2nd World Cup title after beating Croatia 4-2

- Kylian Mbappe becomes the youngest player after the Brazilian Pele to score in the final of a World Cup

- Didier Deschamps became the third person to win the World Cup both as a coach and player.

France have won the 21st edition of the FIFA World Cup in Russia. It is the second title for Les Bleues after beating Croatia 4-2.

Didier Deschamos made history as only the third person to win the World Cup as a player and a coach.

The six goal thriller saw three goals apiece in each half. Croatia having dominated possession, looked out of the game by the 69th minute when Kylian Mbappe score the fourth for France.

After taking the lead through a Mario Madzukic own goal, France were reluctant to press. Croatia got into the game through a spectacular Ivan Perisic goal.

Goals from Griezmann and Pogba meant that Mandzukic's capitalisation on Lloris' mistake counted for very little.

The 2018 final was one of the highest scoring finale in World Cup history.
