- The musician has off the Ghanaian scene for at least 4 years.
- The spokesperson for Kwadee's family spoke of arranging to have the musician himself speak to the media
Contrary to recent reports that Okomfo Kwadee has been abandoned at a mental rehab centre, the musician is said to be preparing for the release of an album.
This disclosure was made by a man identified as a spokesperson of Kwadee's family. The interview, monitored and initially reported by Mynewsgh, was with Accra-based Class FM.
The spokesperson identified himself as Peter. He is said to be a representative of the Atuatedom family. He rejected claims that the family had abandoned the musician.
Peter said: “There is no way our leader will be abandoned in the rehab centre for four years.
I read the story myself this morning and it said since 2013, our family has visited the rehab centre … Kwadee was at the 2016 RTP Awards, so, calculate from 2016 to 2018, is it four years?”
Peter went on: “I don’t know when you’re doing this programme again, I can arrange for you to talk to him (Okomfuor Kwadee) yourself and at least it would be able to clear so many doubts.
I was really shocked when I saw this story. I can tell you Kwadee is very Okay.”
Kwadee, whose real name is Jerry Anaba, was a hiplife sensation in the early 2000s. He won a huge a following due to his hippie personality and his story-telling rap style.
In closing the conversation, Peter told Class FM that the said healer leader of the Willing Ways Foundation lied about Kwadee's situation. He noted that clarification would be made soon on the matter.
