- Pope Skinny has touched on why he does not think Tic Tac will never become as big as he used to be
- He also spoke on how disagreements among rap artistes did not need to be violent
Rapper and radio personality, Pope Skinn,y believes that hiplife veteran, Tic Tac, has a career that cannot be resurrected.
For Pope Skinny, even a feature on a Tic Tac song from Jay-Z will not be enough.
Skinny was speaking to Accra-based radio 3FM in an interview, when offered the advice that it was time for acceptance on the part of Tic Tac that music was finished for him.
Pope Skinny, whose real name is Kwame Ohene Darko, was of the view that Tic Tac will be more successful in anything else other than music.
He however, recognised that the veteran was once a force to be reckoned with.
Skinny said: “When the fans love you, even when you fool, they still follow you. But in Ghana when you’re no more relevant, just try featuring Jay-Z, you’ll still remain irrelevant.”
The rapper then delved into addressing an issue between himself and Tic Tac.
He said: Tic called me a snitch…he’s not even my friend. Tic Tac doesn’t have money than me and he doesn’t have a better car than me. I drive Benz and none of them drive one…The fact is they can’t afford it.”
“Shatta Wale is my bosom friend but that doesn’t mean if you and Shatta have problems so you’ll see me as an enemy. Even Prodigal is now our friend. We’re not fighting this battle with weapons."
Skinny advised that that disagreement between musicians does not need to develop into serious enmity. He called on Tic Tac and others to desist from making disagreements about violence.
