A 30-year-old man has been beaten to pulp at Asuogya, a suburb of Nkawkaw, in the Kwahu West Municipality of the Eastern Region, for kidnapping.
The suspect, whose name is not immediately known was said to have kidnapped a middle-aged woman and her two children.
According to an eyewitness account, the suspect, believed to be 30-years-old, met the woman and her two children who were having difficulties in locating one ‘'Rev Obofour’' in the area.
However, in the course of discussion, the suspect kidnapped the woman and her children, but one of the children managed to escape along the journey.
The older child who escaped along the route called for help until two men came to her rescue.
Further reports state that the child led the men to rescue her mother and her other sibling, after which the suspect was subsequently arrested and handed over to the police.
Another person who witnessed the incident also told Agoo FM in an interview that the suspect threatened to kill the woman and her children if they called for help.
Meanwhile, the Nkawkaw Divisional Police Commander, ACP Andrews Esuman, has assured that police investigators have been deployed to conduct a further probe into the matter.
