It is unclear why it has taken her this long but Gifty Anti is finally speaking about the viral photos of her kneeling before her husband.
To put it into a better context, Ghanaian women displaying acts of submissiveness before their husbands in quite popular. However, the fact of Gifty Anti being an avowed feminist had people thinking this was a curious case.
But the TV presenter thinks that her action does not go against her feminist principles.
According to a report by Mynewsgh, Anti deliberately waited for the storm to die down before commenting on the matter.

According to the report, Anti thought that her act was misinterpreted for a feminist giving up on her feminism.
She shot down suggestions that feminism meant that a woman could neither be a wife nor respectful of men.

She said: “I will kneel down before my husband any day and anytime if I have offended him or if I want to just say thank you for something. "It doesn’t demean me as Gifty Anti, It doesn’t take anything away from me.”

Also known as Oheneyere Awo Dansoa, Gifty Anti had the Ghanaian social media scene loud on the topic. While some felt it was just a defeat for feminism, others were disappointed in her.
Indeed, it is not our order to suggest that Gifty Anti has raised a whole generation young Ghanaian feminists through her advocacy.

What remains to be seen is how these people who idolise her would take her recent defence as submissiveness.
