- Kennedy Agyapong has revealed suspected killer of JB Danquah-Adu is using two phones in prison custody
- The MP believes some top members of the NDC are communicating to the suspects while under police cells
The Member of Parliament for Assin Central constituency, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has revealed that one of the suspected killers of former Abuakwa North MP, Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu, is living a luxurious life in prison custody.
According to Kennedy Agyapong, Daniel Asiedu, has been allowed by security officials to use two phones while in prison custody.
Speaking on Adom FM on Tuesday, the Assin MP revealed that police investigators are fully aware the suspect is in constant communications with his alleged contractors.
However, they have turned a blind eye for some strange reasons, which he suspects a ploy in the whole murder case.
Kennedy Agyapong in his submission alleged that some persons within the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), communicate regularly with Daniel Asiedu and even influenced him to implicate the NPP in the murder case.
But the Assin MP has vowed that he will ensure justice is served and all culprits behind the murder case are brought to book.
“We won’t allow a whole MP to die and allow the killers to go scot free. Ghanaians are behaving as though the murder is a small thing. I won’t allow that to happen. A person will kill a whole MP and the police will allow the killer to feel free as though nothing has happened,” he said.
The controversial NPP lawmaker added that the alleged killers of the MP are being manipulated by some ‘unseen hands’ across the political divide.
“He [Daniel Asiedu], has been allowed to use two phones and being manipulated by some persons within the NDC. I know that JB Danquah’s death was state managed by the NDC,” Ken Agyapong said.
The then NDC government was accused by a section of the Ghanaian public for the murder of the Abuakwa North MP in 2016.
However, one of the suspects standing trial on Wednesday June 20, 2018, ‘confessed’ that he was contracted by some persons within the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to kill the lawmaker.
Daniel Asiedu in his court appearance told the presiding judge, Arit Nsemoh, that he prepared to disclose the names of his contractors since he was not given what promised him before executing the plot.
But speaking on the matter, the controversial MP wondered why the suspect, Daniel Asiedu would make such damning allegations against the NPP when he is aware of those responsible for the murder.
Kennedy Agyapong further accused the former Director-General of the CID, COP Prosper Agblor and Director General of Operations at the police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare of covering up the truth and defending the suspect as far as the murder case is concerned.
The Abuakwa North MP, J. B Danquah Adu was murdered in his East Legon home on February 9, 2016.
