Fast-rising Ghanaian rapper, Kwesi Arthur, has revealed that he received news of his BET nomination just like any other Ghanaian.
According to the rapper, he became surprised and simply couldn’t believe his ears when he first heard about the news.
Speaking on Accra-based TV3 with Mikkie Osei Berko, Kwesi Arthur explained that there was no “prior discussion” with organizers of BET before the announcement was made.
“When I heard the news I was surprised and overwhelmed at the same time. Because I wasn’t expecting it and I didn’t hear anything about it prior to it being announced,” he said.
The young rapper also revealed that he didn’t believe it when he first heard the news, prompting him to confirm on the official BET Instagram page.
“I saw it on Twitter first but I didn’t believe it but during the day people kept sending me congratulatory messages. So I checked the Instagram page of BET International and I realized that I had really been nominated. It was great and I think it was God’s engineering,” Kwesi Arthur stated.
The Tema-based hiplife artiste who has been ‘underground’ over years shoot to fame after releasing his first single, featuring Sarkodie and Medikal.
Kwesi Arthur received nominated for 2018 Black Entertainment Television Awards (BET), at the Viewer Choice category in the United States.
