- Fabregas admitted trying to persuade Eden Hazard to stay at the club

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has revealed trying to persuade Eden Hazard to remain at Chelsea.

According to a UK Daily Mail report, the Belgium international has been frequently linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge to Santiago Benabeau during the ongoing summer transfer but his club-mate is pleading to Hazard to rescind his moves and remain at the English topflight.

“I won't lie, I speak to him (Hazard) often. He is the best player at the club and we need Chelsea to keep the best players.

“He knows the fans love him and he's a player we love to play with. For sure, we want him to stay,” Fabregas was quoted as saying on Thursday night after Chelsea’s first session at Optus Stadium in Perth, Australia.

Reacting further the Spanish international hinted that the squad members were happy with the new setting at the club with new manager Maurizio Sarri at the helms of affairs in his first training session.

“All players want to be involved in something like that but it's a new start for us with a new manager.

“I've been playing for 15 years and when you have a new manager you need to show that you want to play. It's an exciting time, we start from zero and want to win things,” Fabregas added.

Already, Hazard has been handed an extended vacation after representing his country at the just concluded FIFA World Cup in Russia and Fabregas’ comments clearly revealed that the 27-year-old midfielder is already considering life outside West London.

Interestingly, the 59-year-old Sarri who is still learning about the squad he inherited from compatriot Antonio Conte will be praying that one of the club’s star performers remain.

“It's my first time in Perth, happy to be here, the stadium is good. Impression of the training pitch is good too for my players,” he said, even as he was quick to add that it is still early days.

“I don't know what to expect from my team or the opponents.

“This period is very important for us to work, I started on Monday so had little time before the first official match.

“It's important to work in training more than a match. I don't know what our best is at the moment.”

Surprising, Brazilian star David Luiz emerged from nowhere to join Fabregas and Sarri during the conversation and also took out time to applaud their hosts for the support the Chelsea gang have been receiving since arriving Australia.

“The flight was easier than taking a 72-hour bus as a kid. At the WACA with the names up on the scoreboard was nice to see and thank you so much for the little details. Hoping to make memories for the kids on Monday,” Luiz submitted.

Meanwhile, YEN.com.gh previously had reported that Real Madrid have reportedly reached a massive £170 million deal for Chelsea’s Belgium star Eden Hazard.

According to the UK Mirror report, the Chelsea playmaker’s time at Stamford Bridge seems to be nearing an end after he openly courted a move away from West London.

Hazard was among the top performers at the just concluded FIFA World Cup in Russia but he would not be playing Champions League football next season if he stays with Chelsea.
