Outspoken Ghanaian lawyer, Maurice Ampaw, has said that all those who donated money to the assaulted nursing mother carrying her baby in the banking hall of Midland Savings and Loans were hypocrites.
According to the lawyer, all those who were donating just wanted attention by having their names mentioned in the media for the kindness.
He made reference to the Bible and said that all those who contributed to the assaulted lady had already received their reward.
Maurice Ampaw revealed that other people who had experienced similar plight were not given the special treatment being given to Madam Patience Osafo.
He cited an example that, the Marwako staff whose face was dipped into pepper did not receive any form of donation from anyone.
He said people wanted to be applauded for their kindness therefore went with cameras to capture them donating to the woman.
Not too long ago, outspoken marriage counselor, George Lutterodt, alleged that the policeman, who has come to be identified as Frederick Amanor, might have acted out of the fact that the lady did not heed to his command of walking out of the banking hall peacefully.
A few days ago, social media went into a frenzy over a very worrying video involving a policeman assaulting a nursing mother carrying her baby.
The video received a lot of condemnation on social media with the masses calling for the head of the policeman in the video.
Not long after the video went viral, many government bodies and individual condemned the act resulting in the immediate arrest of the policeman.
The lady in the video, has had her life transformed after the incident owing to the fact that many Ghanaians have dug deep into their pockets to support her financially.
Recent checks conducted indicate that she has already received cash donations to the tune of GHc 40,000 already.
Top management at Midland Savings and Loans have officially apologized to the lady and the general public. The financial institution has also promised to compensate the lady for the harm that has been done to her.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has also spoken against the abuse and has admonished law enforcers to protect citizens rather than abuse them.
