- Nana Addo has ended his tour of the three northern regions
- The president was lauded by chiefs for his social interventions including the Free SHS
- Schools, roads and hospitals have been commissioned in the president's name
President of the republic has ended his tour of the Upper West Region as part of the entire three-day tour of the three Northern Regions.
Nana Addo, during the tour, took the chance to pay a courtesy call on the Wa Naa, Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo IV and commission the newly constructed Amatrol Laboratory of the Hilla Liman Polytechnic.
The President also inspected ongoing works on the construction of a multi-purpose youth center in Wa, which is expected to be completed in 9 months’ time; and also commissioned the new Upper West Regional House of Chiefs building.
The president Akufo-Addo also inspected the 76-kilometer Wa-Han Road, which links thirteen (13) important towns with three (3) big markets at Jang, Bussie and Han.
The president was also applauded for introducing some social-friendly initiatives such as the Free Senior High School policy, the programme for Planting for Food and Jobs, and the restoration of the nursing and teacher training allowances.
Prior to ending his tour, the President interacted with chiefs and queen mothers from Jirapa, Sissala East, Sissala West, Nadowli/Kaleo, Daffiama-Bussie-Issah and Wa East, at a durbar held in his honour.
