Authorities from the Ashaiman Municipal Assembly have cleared traders who sell at the shoulders of the streets just days after a fatal accident claimed a life and injured several others.
Checks by YEN.com.gh show that moments after the fatality, traders went back engaging in brisk business across the shoulders of the street.
To this end, the Ashaiman Municipal Assembly has put up a special 10-man task force to ensure that traders who go back to sell on the shoulders of the road are apprehended.

“We are not going back, we will station people here permanently while we also find an alternative space for the traders,” the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the assembly, Albert Boakye Okyere, told reporters.
A truck filled with cement blocks ran into a crowd of traders at the Ashaiman market killing one instantly and injuring several others.
Viral videos on the accident capture the aftermath of the event which shows some traders stuck under the truck crying for help.
So far, eyewitnesses on the scene have reported that the driver escaped the scene for fear of being attacked and subsequently jailed.
Police officials at the scene have cordoned off the scene as victims of the accident have been conveyed to the hospital for treatment.
“We heard of the news and rushed to the scene, and as our duty was, we first had to secure the lives of the people. So we conveyed the victims to the hospital and have also secured the area,” the Ashaiman Police Divisional Commander, ACP Peter Gyimah, narrated.
He said a follow up to the hospital confirmed the death of one female victim with six others sustaining various degrees of injury, of which one was a critical case.
